Biography

My name is Philip, and I studied Neuroscience and Molecular Biology in the beautiful city of Heidelberg, where I became fascinated with brain function and structure. Therefore, I moved to Leipzig University for my PhD and PostDoc to work on auditory lateralization and human white matter structure. During that time, I was introduced to DISCO clearing, light sheet microscopy, and learned how to handle and analyze huge datasets efficiently – which is also what I do as a staff scientist here.

Other than science, I have a passion for music concerts and love to do outdoor sports like rope climbing and kitesurfing.

Research interests

DISCO tissue clearing, light-sheet microscopy, white matter structure, and terabyte-scale imaging data analysis.
